The automatic change-over switching stations for industrial gases guarantee an uninterrupted gas supply from two cylinder racks or from two to four single cylinders (1 or 2 cylinders each side). The change-over switching station consists of two high pressure regulators - interconnected on the low pressure side - with a gauge on each side indicating the cylinder pressure, a gauge indicating the preset working pressure, a safety valve and two high pressure shut-off blocks. All components are mounted on an aluminium baseplate.
The high pressure shut-off blocks each offer two connection possibilities (lateral and from below) for the connection of high pressure gas cylinders or cylinder racks and have integrated purging valves. The high pressure connectors are fitted with sinter filters. As an option also available with back-flow valves. The change-over switching station operates on the basis of the differential pressure. If the cylinder pressure of one side drops below the adusted pipeline pressure, the pipeline is fed from the other side through the defined differential pressure. Before changing the cylinders of the empty side, the change-over switching station has to be set ready-to-operate again by activating the change-over lever. If this is not done, the change-over switching station continues to be fed from this side after connection of the new gas cylinders.
As an option the changeover switching station can also be equipped with two contact pressure gauges and an empty indicator. The empty indicator offers the possibility for the connection of an external alarm (warning light or signal horn – not included in scope of supply). The version with the two contact gauges must be ordered by the addition of 2KM and the empty indication under Art.79842-N-2.
The change-over switching station is available in three versions, i.e. with a preset change-over pressure up to 10 bar, up to 30 bar or up to 50 bar. The change-over switching stations are obtainable for use with single cylinders or cylinder racks with a charging pressure of 200 or 300 bar.
